Contact a Licensed Energy Advisor to book your first energy evaluation by calling 519-494-2121. You MUST have an energy evaluation performed BEFORE you complete any upgrades if you wish to receive grants for the upgrades.

First Energy Evaluation

An energy advisor will come to your home and perform the first energy evaluation . The first energy evaluation takes between 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. The first energy evaluation is a thorough basement to attic assessment on your home, designed to determine which retrofits will have the greatest impact on homeowner energy savings. The evaluation will identify problem areas within your home and recommend affordable solutions to reduce energy costs and increase the overall value and comfort of your home. The first evaluation costs $325.00. You will receive a $150.00 rebate from the Ontario government to go towards the cost of the first energy evaluation.

Receive Your Report

An ecoENERGY report will be mailed to you within approximately 2 weeks containing recommendations on how to improve the energy efficiency of your home. This is a comprehensive report including Government Grant amounts for each recommended change.

Upgrade Your Home

After reading your ecoENERGY report you may choose to do all, some, or none of the recommendations. You can complete the upgrade work yourself or hire a contractor. You should document your renovations with receipts, photos and product literature to be sure you get full credit for all improvements. You must finish your upgrade work and complete your second evaluation before March 31, 2012. You can apply for ecoENERGY grants only once per house.

Second Energy Evaluation

Please call 519-494-2121 to schedule your second evaluation when you have completed all of your planned upgrades. The cost of a second ecoENERGY evaluation is $175.00. The second evaluation is to confirm that the suggested retrofits have been completed. We will then submit the required documentation to Natural Resources Canada on your behalf who in turn will process and mail the appropriate grant to you.

Receive Your Grant Cheques

You can expect to receive your federal ecoENERGY grant cheque within 90 days of your second energy evaluation.
